About Us

Founded and led by Coskun Erden, Ph.D., AlphaRoot Academy is committed to empowering young learners through exceptional mathematics education and contest preparation.

Dr. Erden holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and an M.S. in Statistics from Iowa State University, and brings over two decades of international teaching experience. His teaching journey began in 2002 as a Mathematics Olympiad Instructor at Chong Hua High School in Zamboanga, Philippines, where he coached students for regional and national Olympiads.

From 2003 to 2012, Dr. Erden served as a mathematics instructor for the Mathematics Olympiad Team at Mehmet Akif Boys College in Albania, where he developed and delivered advanced problem-solving curricula. In 2019, he taught highly motivated students at the AlphaStar Academy Summer Camp in California, focusing on training for national and international math competitions.

In 2025, AlphaRoot Academy launched its year-round enrichment programs for Grades 4–8, targeting contests such as Math Kangaroo, MOEMS, Noetic, and Math League. The curriculum is crafted from Dr. Erden’s extensive experience and is closely aligned with the content and format of these renowned competitions.

Each course is built around deep conceptual understanding, strategic problem-solving, and step-by-step progression to help students thrive in competitive settings. The academy plans to expand its offerings to include more grade levels and advanced tracks in the coming years.
